5 clean beauty trends for 2021 by the Whole Foods’ Trends Council

Whole Food Market, and its Trends Council, announced five clean beauty trends that they believe will be the most popular among consumers in 2021.

Amy Jargo, Global Beauty Buyer at Whole Foods Market, comments:

“The beauty industry has seen significant consumer shifts this year due to Covid-19, and our trends faithfully reflect those shifts. Customers are looking to streamline their beauty routines, while looking for brands that match their values, such as those that limit their environmental impact with waterless and recycled products. ”

Clean Beauty Trend # 1 — Beauty Without Water

Solid and waterless formats mean less plastic packaging since a brand can choose a box or box when a product is not in liquid form. The product is also generally smaller, which reduces the amount of packaging required and the shipping weight.

Clean Beauty Trend # 2 — Multitasking Balms

There are balm products, usually in stick packages, for just about any cosmetic – for lips, cheeks, cuticles and more. They’re in tune with a survey commissioned by Whole Foods Market that finds consumers will continue with a more streamlined skin care and makeup routine after the pandemic.

Clean Beauty Trend # 3 — Juicy Up Skin Care

The essentials for skin care and personal care are filled with the best superfoods to “nourish” your skin, including vitamin C, celery, mushrooms and blueberries.

Clean Beauty Trend # 4 – Recycled Beauty

Whole Foods Market says, “We are seeing ingredients reused in beauty products – think quality coffee grounds, discarded apricot kernels, leftover argan shells… giving new life to what would have been fine. food waste. Discover UpCircle’s coffee-based skin care products.

Clean Beauty Trend n ° 5 — Stressed skin, discover intensified remedies

Skin care with calming ingredients addresses skin problems currently “inflamed” by the pandemic, such as “maskne”. Products formulated to counteract the effect of stress on your skin are also helpful at this time.

Survey finds simplification and transparency key

Whole Foods Market also shared the results of a recently commissioned online survey conducted by The Harris Poll.

Staying at home during the pandemic means women are used to wearing less makeup – and the survey finds that 85% of consumers who have simplified their beauty routines in the past year plan to continue.

Transparency also remains essential. More than half (57%) of consumers surveyed said they want to know more about the ingredients in the beauty products they buy.

Trendy Packaging — Handmade Bags from Whole Foods

To make it easy for consumers to try products representing these trends, Whole Foods Market has created two Beauty Bags: Glow-Up Beautiful and New Essentials.

Each is $ 20 (valued at $ 135) and available in store while supplies last. They contain a mix of mini and full size products from brands like Cocokind, Dr. Hauschka and Acure.

The bag itself is a score on its own – it’s a Queen Alaffia cosmetic bag, hand-printed by artisans in Togo, West Africa.
