Organic beauty market vanity cart raised US$200,000 (Rs 1.5 crore) in a funding round led by Agility Venture Partners, Alfa Ventures founder Dhianu Das, actor Anita Hassanandani and angel investor Sanjay Nagi. The new cash injection will be used by the company to expand its geographic footprint, integrate more brands and cater to a larger consumer base.

The Delhi-based two-year-old start, launched by Naina Ruhail, Prateek Ruhail and Sahil Shrestha, currently serves 50,000 PINs with 85 brands. With this funding, Vanity Wagon now plans to onboard 70 more brands and estimates 50,000 new users by 2021. The startup claims to have sold over 1 lakh of products so far and seen 5x growth since 2019 .

clean beauty industry saw around 50% year-over-year growth with a large amount of investment in own beauty brands, such as Mamaearth, Moms Co and Arata.

Actor Hassanandani, who has actively invested in startups such as Natures Tattva and TheBag Talk, has seen fit to support a clean beauty market based on his growth over the past three years.

“Being a devotee of clean beauty, I realized that now is the time for India to have its own clean beauty destination. When I spoke with the founders of Vanity Wagon, I immediately knew this was going to be big,” Hassanandani said in a press release.

Vanity Wagon sells toxin-free and natural beauty and personal care products on its platform.
