One of boxing’s biggest stars, Saul Canelo Alvarez, returns to the ring on Saturday February 27 for a super middleweight title clash against Avni Yildirim. The boxing match will be broadcast live on DAZN.

The unified super middleweight champion defends his WBA (Super) and WBC championships against Yildirim at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Mexico-based World Boxing Council, which recognizes Alvarez as super middleweight champion, appoints Yildirim – who hasn’t boxed for two years – as Alvarez’s mandatory challenger, even though Yildirim just lost by technical decision to Anthony Dirrell in his previous fight.

Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) comes off a decisive victory over Callum Smith on December 19 which earned him a second super middleweight belt and ended 13 months of inactivity. Yildirim is 21-2 with 12 knockouts.

Coverage of the fight begins at 6 p.m. (7 p.m. ET). Undercard games begin at 7 p.m. (8 p.m. ET) with the main event scheduled for 9 p.m. (10 p.m. ET).

The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN, which offers a subscription for $ 19.99 per month. Unfortunately for customers in the United States, there is no free trial. You can cancel at any time. You can also register for a one year subscription for $ 99.99.

The fight will not be televised.

Alvarez competed six days before Christmas, defeating Callum Smith by unanimous decision to win the WBA and WBC belts. The 30-year-old wants to be active in 2021 having only fought once in 2020. Yildirim is the mandatory WBC challenger, and Alvarez wants to step aside so he can have a clear path to becoming the undisputed champion at 168. pounds sterling.
