Studio L Salon in Longview will move to a new location later this year, after owner Lynsey Tippitt said she purchased the building where Rumors Spalon is located at 3394 NUS 259.

Tippitt said his living room will move to half the building and Rumors will occupy the other half. The rumors, which she says recently changed ownership, will continue to work. Tippitt didn’t buy Rumors, just the building.

“We will be adding more stylists, but we will keep all of our services the same,” Tippitt said.

Tippitt has been in business for 20 years, including seven years as the owner of Studio L Salon.

“I was excited about this opportunity and feel like the two companies complement each other,” she said. Her company provides hair related services, she said. Rumors offers “medico-aesthetic and well-being” services.

She said she bought the building from Scott Zhorne.

“I am delighted to be next to (Rumors) and very grateful and delighted to have this opportunity to buy the building from him,” she said.

Start of renovation work on the resale store

The Gifts of Grace resale store is preparing to move to its new home in the old children’s station on West Loop 281.

Building permit information from the Town of Longview shows that more than $ 200,000 in renovations will be made to the building.

The 11-year-old resale store, which helps support Wiseman Ministries, is located in 13,000 square feet of space in the North Loop Plaza shopping center at Loop 281 and Judson Road. Gifts of Grace will have nearly 20,000 square feet in its new location.

Jennifer Beddingfield, the organization’s executive director, previously said the independent building would better serve the organization instead of something that is connected to a shopping center. The store could have parking sales, she said. The building also has a “large transformation” area at the rear of the building and a loading dock, which the store does not currently have.

Planned warehouses

American Legion Boulevard, near Teague Park, will see the construction of approximately 30,000 square feet of warehouse space over the next few months.

Joe Holland, owner of Holland Supply in Longview, began the approval process for the Town of Longview for what he said were three buildings of approximately 10,000 square feet.

“We thought it was a good location for access,” he said. American Legion Boulevard runs between US 80 and Whaley Street, which provides quick access to Eastman Road and then Interstate 20.

Holland was unsure of the construction schedule at this point due to uncertainty over the availability of construction supplies. He expects the warehouses to be used by small distributors, including his own business. Holland Supply’s business includes the sale of textbooks to overseas colleges in the US territories.

“We believe that in the long term there will be demand for warehouses,” Holland said.
