Essentia Health will be hosting virtual advance care planning courses on Jan.12 and Feb.10 to help patients start thinking about healthcare choices in the future, according to a press release from the healthcare provider.

Virtual sessions are designed to help individuals and families begin to make difficult decisions about possible future health care needs before the need arises.

The virtual classes will take place on January 12 from 9 am to 10 am and on February 10 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. If you would like to register for the courses, visit the online registration portal of Essentia Health via their website Web.

The sessions aim to educate individuals on potential life-sustaining treatments, discuss values ​​and preferences, and treatments that a person would or would not want if affected by a life-threatening illness.

According to the press release, the provider hopes to strike up stimulating conversations to ensure that a person’s preferences are understood if they become unable to make medical decisions for themselves due to an accident, injury. or sudden illness.

Renew: Laser Med Spa has moved and expanded into the former Styles on Willow salon on Willow Street in Detroit Lakes.

The new location, at 106 Willow Street West, added another laser for hair removal, spider veins treatment and facial photos.

Brianna Ulrich, Owner and Certified Laser Technician, said the expansion of the new business gives the business the opportunity to provide these services locally in Detroit Lakes.

Ulrich grew up in Cormorant, Minnesota, and attended school in Pelican Rapids. She currently lives in Detroit Lakes with her husband and three boys.

She also wants to promote new massage therapist, Emily Milligan, who will be operating in the space above Renew.
