Fleetwood Beauty and Nail Salon Open Day in New Premises

Lisa Potts and Michaela Giddings have moved to new premises on Lord St in Fleetwood

Michaela Giddings, owner of Nikayla’s, said the move was necessary as the busy business required additional staff and space.

The Friday open house will allow customers to tour the new premises and enjoy a glass of prosecco and a cake.

Michaela, 47, who lives in Manor Road in the city, first opened Nikayla’s, at 216 Lord Street, in 2017 with her friend Nicola Berry, who has since left the company.

Eventually she hired three new staff and says things are going well.

The new address, at 187 Lord Street, also brought a new name, Kayla’s.

Michaela, a busy grandmother and mother of five, said: “The pandemic has been a difficult time and luckily we got to see it.

“As soon as we were able to reopen, customers were eager to arrive!

“I think with all the pessimism, people just want to be pampered and also get back to normalcy.

“We’ve had a lot of good luck messages about the new store.”

After the open day, the show will open next week.

Michaela, who worked as a cook in a nursing home, decided to make a complete career change and graduated as a nail technician five years ago.

At the salon, she has now been joined by Amy Lee (nails, makeup and hairstyle), Lisa Potts (aesthetics – botox and eyelashes) and Daniella Trenchard (eyelashes) part-time.

Michaela added: “We won’t be working on Friday, it’s just a chance for people to look around and enjoy a glass of prosecco and a cake!”
