PLEASANT GAP – Pleasant Gap welcomes new businesses.

Construction is underway at 220 N. Main St. Four businesses are going to be housed in the building. These companies are: Benjamin Construction, LLC, Beauty Box, Cafe Luna and Shindy Supply, LLC.

Beauty Box is listed as “hair and nail salon” while Cafe Luna is listed as a “bakery and cafe.” The building has been vacant for several years. It previously housed a dance studio, Dance Harmony and Ed Rose’s Barber Shop. Ed Rose’s Barber Shop was the only barber shop in Pleasant Gap. He retired in 2015 and died in 2019.

Features of Shindy Supply “modern kitchen cabinets” according to the signage located on the building.

Cafe Luna will be Pleasant Gap’s second bakery. A little over a year ago, The Cakeshop by Tati held its inauguration. This will be the third cafe, joining Tati’s The Cakeshop and Bees Knees, which are located along West College Avenue near the traffic light in Pleasant Gap.

Pleasant Gap now has a handful of businesses. In addition to the aforementioned businesses, there’s Little Mamma’s Pizza Shop, Uni-Mart, and Fasta and Ravioli Co., which is located in the former Pleasant Gap post office.

Smoke N’ Go Express 2 recently opened at 121 W. College Ave.

However, a long-standing popular company will be leaving. The owners of the Red Horse Tavern, 104 N. Main St., will close in late April. Owner and chef Justin Leiter recently announced that he plans to close at the end of April. The Red Horse dates from the 1950s.

Opening dates for Benjamin Construction, LLC, Beauty Box, Cafe Luna and Shindy Supply, LLC have not been announced.

Stay tuned.
