The Naples-based Laser Lounge Spa is making a big investment in the Sarasota area. The company, which along with its sister brand, The Aesthetics Lounge & Spa, has 11 combined locations nationwide, recently purchased a significant four-story building in downtown Sarasota, the former home of John Carl Spa & Salon.
The owners of The Laser Lounge Spa, husband and wife team Jonathan and April Sigg, paid $ 3.35 million for the property at 1345 Second Street, according to a statement. The property will become the flagship location of the Laser Lounge Spa, the statement added. Company locations offer services such as laser hair removal, skin fillers, lip enhancement, and facials.
Advisors from the SVN Commercial Advisory Group handled both sides of the case: Gail Bowden represented the salespeople, Raymond Pepper and Richard Day, while Ryan McDonald represented the Siggs.
Built in 2000 by local architect Max Lassiter, the building and parking garage contain over 15,000 square feet, which includes an elevator and a European-style kitchen. A spiral staircase connects the third and fourth floors, while the roof is fully accessible and offers panoramic views of Sarasota Bay.
“I was looking everywhere for the right space, even one that the buyer could rent,†McDonald said in the statement. “We wanted the best fit for The Laser Lounge and the clientele they attract. When I attended an open house that Gail was holding, I thought it would be a really good space for them.â€
Jonathan Sigg says the couple will operate the Laser Lounge Spa on the second floor of the building and use the third and fourth floors as short-term rentals for vacationers. The ground floor will contain a hairdressing and manicure salon. The building is already laid out as they would have liked, he adds, with just a few cosmetic renovations to the floors and fixtures to be done. “This is a rare find,†Sigg said in the statement. “We expect high demand in the historic downtown district.”
