If you had asked me what I thought of Vegas a few months ago, I would have said, “ehh, that’s not my thing”. I don’t play, I like to go to bed early and the buffets stress me out. All the things that I * thought * were the epitome of Vegas don’t really do for me, so it was never a place at the top of my list.

It wasn’t until I visited Resorts World at the end of September that I really became a Vegas convert. Resorts World has EVERYTHING from Michelin-starred restaurants to next-level spa treatments, and you don’t have to empty your bank account at the roulette table or stay up all night drinking Red Bulls vodka to keep it going. take advantage. Even if you are not the type in Las Vegas, this place will blow you away. Check out all of my recs, below, to see for yourself.

Resorts World is brand new – it opened during the summer and is the first resort to be built on the Vegas Strip in over a decade. The property contains three different hotels, each in its own wing and with its own decor and atmosphere.

There’s the chic Crockfords (the most luxurious of the three for the big guys), the more family-friendly Hilton (it’s the larger and more affordable option), and the sleek Conrad (it seemed the most modern to me). . I’m probably biased as I stayed at the Conrad, but if you are going to Resorts World, I recommend booking a room there. The vibe is chic but not stuffy, and the rooms and suites are super spacious, perfect for a trip with your SO or as a base for a fun girls’ weekend.

Las Vegas is HOT (it was 101 degrees laid back in September …) so if you want some time outside on your trip I suggest heading to one of the resort’s seven different pools. There’s the family pool (ignore it if you don’t have kids), the resort’s main pool (which is actually four huge pools grouped together), a slightly more private cabana pool, and then the VIP pool ~ exclusive ~. The VIP pool offers better views and more comfortable loungers, but the resort’s main pool is honestly just as fun.

A great tip if you linger by the main pool: don’t waste the extra dollars on one of the floating daybeds and just hang one of the red lounge chairs around the pool instead. Most are shaded, and when the UV index is 10, this shade is absolutely necessary if you don’t want to feel like you’re melting on your chair.

Where you hang out at night

Vegas is synonymous with A + nightlife and the options at Resorts World do not disappoint. And there’s something for every vibe too, so if the first pumping until 4am isn’t your thing, it’s NBD. Here’s a quick rundown of the must-see places:

  • Starlight on 66– up to the 66th floor, this lounge bar is the perfect place to have a glass of fine champagne and admire the view of the Strip at sunset
  • Dawg House Saloon—Classic Nashville bar with delicious snacks (toddlers are to die for) and live country rock music
  • Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den-speakeasy hidden (password is Meow, of course it is) behind Ms. Meow’s Mamak booth in Famous Foods
  • Red tail—A cool pre-game spot with games and a ton of TVs to watch sports if that’s your thing (it’s right next to Zouk, so people go 9-11am as the first stop on the day. night)
  • Zouk—Ganto nightclub with resident artists like Zedd and Tiesto (don’t go early, the DJ usually arrives around 2am 🙃)
  • Ayu– a classic Vegas pool party spot where you can (and should) take 324,782 selfies in your cutest swimsuit

    What you eat

In fact, I think one of the best things about Vegas is the restaurants, and the options at Resorts World don’t disappoint. There are over 40 (!!) food spots to explore on the property, but here are my favorites:

    • Long live– modern Mexican with delicious margs and tacos by celebrity chef Ray Garcia
    • Kusa Nori– sushi, sashimi and tons of other seafood options (grab the oysters, they come on a cool smoking platter)
    • Famous foods—A collection of stalls inspired by street food from around the world (perfect for a quick lunch or late night snack)
    • Wally-epic wine bar with equally epic cheese and cold meats planks (prime spot for happy hour)
    • Fuhu– trendy Asian fusion with steak, sushi and more

        How do you relax

I have visited a LOT of spas in my day (beauty editor perks), but Resorts World’s Awana is a cut above my friends. It’s super modern, gorgeous, and also huge – there are several plunge pools, a steam room and sauna, therapeutic hot and cold showers, and a bunch of cozy nooks and crannies for lounging. You could literally spend the whole day in your fluffy robe wandering around.

And the treatment menu is extensive. It offers facials, massages, body scrubs, foot treatments and more, all inspired by European and Eastern traditions. I tried the Tokyo Escape Massage, the Phoenix Rising Foot Treatment, and the Hydrafacial – all of them were fabulous and left me feeling totally zen and with super glowing skin too.

The coolest thing about Awana IMO is the social aspect. Gossiping with friends, clinking glasses of champagne, and having fun about any ridiculous thing you did the night before is totally okay – in fact, it’s encouraged. Some treatments, like foot massages, are booked in a common setting for groups, and you can even book a social sauna experience with your friends called Art of Aufguss. Basically you sweat buckets for 15 minutes while the sauna master puts on a show with music, dancing, aromatherapy, and theatrical lighting. It’s like the Cirque du Soleil spa edition … something that could literally only happen in Vegas.

        When you go

Vegas is a year round destination, but if you want comfortable temperatures and enough pool time, I would go between March and May and September and November. Summer can be unbearably hot, as I mentioned before, and winter temperatures hover around the 50s and 60s. And since Vegas is a desert, there is also no rainy season (actually. , it is one of the sunniest cities in the United States). My best advice? Plan your trip according to the resort’s calendar of events. You may be able to purchase tickets to see Katy Perry or Luke Bryan while you are in town.
