New spa town business proves there is life after pandemic

LLANDRINDOD Wells was built on being a spa town renowned for its regenerative powers, and two local girls are proving there is life after the pandemic as they have just opened their own beauty business.

Mair Davies and Sidoni Hilliard have combined their skills to create an eyelash, eyebrow and nail salon in Llandrindod, with the exciting new business launched on Saturday 17th September by the two young entrepreneurs.

Mair, 22, and Sidoni, 28, celebrated an open house on Saturday, which took place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the presence of their customers, friends and supporters. The response from local businesses and friends was greatly appreciated by the girls, with many local businesses donating generous giveaways for a raffle prize and some even volunteering their time and skills to help get the show up and running ahead of the launch.

“The amount of encouraging and positive feedback from the local community has been overwhelming,” said Sidoni, of Builth Wells, who runs the Nails by Sidoni side of the business. “Mair and I have both steadily built a good customer base over the past year which has supported our efforts and continues to do so, and we both felt it was the right time to expand into the market. . ”

“I know the pandemic has seen many businesses struggle, but it has been a dream for me and for Sid to run our own business and provide our personalized and unique salon with a touch of style,” added Mair, of Llandrindod, who attended school. in Builth.

“We also believe that with the rebranding of our spa town and new visitors to the area, we can also provide this in the town as a service to them. A place to get away from it all for a great vacation, relax in the countryside and a place to come and pamper yourself in a warm and relaxed setting.

“We want to support this city, the people and small businesses here and our new visitors. ”

Mair runs the company’s Sugarpot Beauty business and offers a unique and professional styling treatment for eyebrow and eyelash extensions.

The two young entrepreneurs are based at Office 2, Lyndhurst House, on Temple Drive, Llandrindod.

Opening hours are 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (by appointment only). The salon offers gel nails and gel nail extensions, eyelash extensions and various eyebrow treatments including waxing and tinting.
