The store, which was previously located on Terminus Road, recently moved to Lavant Road, where store manager Alana Burtt-Smith said the business “fits in very well”.

Despite the company’s continued growth, the old premises were “simply too big”. Being in an industrial area was also inconvenient for the business which is now conveniently located in the heart of the local dog walking community.

Alana said: “Although we are still very new to the area, the location for us is much nicer as we are so close to Centurion Way where there is a huge group of dog walkers.”

The close-knit community atmosphere of the area benefits the company, which prides itself on providing comprehensive and personalized service to all of its customers. As the only salon in the area with a trained fearless groomer, the business is also equipped to handle dogs of all behaviors and walks of life.

Groomer Courtney Lilley said: “It’s all part and parcel of training pets fearlessly.

“The more you get to know the dog, the family, and their family dynamics, the better you can advise them.”

Alana added: “We like to have good relationships with our customers.

“Although the business is growing, we still maintain that personal and personalized service.”

The community here has welcomed the company, which seeks to provide a more holistic and natural way to feed and groom our pets.

Owners considering feeding their dogs a raw food diet receive a full consultation to determine their pet’s specific needs and the grooming process is tailored to each dog’s needs. All raw foods sold in the store are developed by the company and contain only human grade meat without any fillers.

The goal is to “bring back what dogs are supposed to eat right from the start.”

Superfoods, such as kale and sweet potato, are also added to the food for optimal health benefits, and the company offers a specialty line for sensitive stomachs.

The company began 11 years ago, with owner Kelly Newbold-Cooper “starting in her kitchen with a single hand-held meat mixer” and has grown into two stores, a factory and a corporate office, with inventory sold and delivered nationwide. .

Courtney said, “She came into the market at the right time, just when people were starting to look into things like raw foods and natural therapies.”

The philosophy of Nurture Them Naturally is to offer an ethical approach in all areas of the business, from the products on sale to the service rendered by the staff.

This includes the salon’s grooming process, which differs from many other establishments; Nurture Them Naturally aims to avoid “treadmill grooming” where there is “one dog in, one dog out” without considering the individual needs of the animal .

For Courtney, who is skilled in Fearless Pets, it’s about training frightened dogs to transform a negative environment and situation into a positive one, at the dog’s own pace.

Some can take up to two years to prepare for the grooming process, and the most hesitant dogs receive a “meet and treat”, a 15-minute appointment that is individualized to the business, where the dog receives treats, plays and gets to know the groomer in a relaxed atmosphere with the aim of changing his association with grooming.

Feed Them Naturally is located at 1A Lavant Road. The shop sells a selection of natural treats, whole raw dog food, toys and plant-based grooming products.
