Sweet Spot on Lakeshore has it all – Think Local

The Sweet Spot Beauty Bar is the result of a pair of dreams coming together at the perfect time.

Lenny Cabrera has dreamed of owning his own business since arriving in Canada in 2016.

Alicia Jamesan had dreamed of opening her own salon for three years.

Today, their two dreams have come true in the form of The Sweet Spot, which offers all types of beauty treatments everyone wants and just gets better with a welcoming space for everyone, including men.

“We thought: let’s put this together, combine our dreams and create an even bigger dream,” says Cabrera.

The Sweet Spot, which is located in The Shore development across from Gyro Beach, offers high quality personal services such as manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, nail art, eyebrow shaping, eyebrow tinting, extensions eyelash, eyelash tinting, body waxing, facial hair removal, facials and massages.

The company is inspired by European trends adopted in Cabrera’s home country, the Dominican Republic, where it has enjoyed tremendous success over the past 12 years.

The difference, however, is in the experience you get when you visit The Sweet Spot. It will soon be made redundant and will feature a real bar, unlike any other lounge in town. This will allow clients to enter and relax with alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages before or during their treatments. Delicious snacks like pastries, muffins and cotton candy will also be on the menu. The Sweet Spot is both trendy and comfortable.

“We want to have that sweetness, so we’re going to have a place where our clients can go to relax in a really trendy and chic way after work or even if it’s a birthday,” says Cabrera.

“Go with your friends and girlfriends and do pedicures, manicures and at the same time enjoy a cocktail or savor your favorite wine or enjoy a cupcake or any other pastry.”

The fact that there will be a bar at the Sweet Spot means that everyone will feel right at home there.

“If you want to have an alcohol-free cocktail, good for you,” says Cabrera. “If you prefer to have a cocktail or if you prefer to have your favorite wine or coffee, we have you covered.

“If a guy is just waiting for his girlfriend to do something, he can have a beer. We have a big TV where we can show UFC fights or any other hockey game or sport right now. We have a large space for everyone to really enjoy.

The salon will be unlike any other, and Cabrera and Jamesan promise that the service will also be second to none. They themselves have tested their employees to ensure quality that will keep customers coming back.

The Sweet Spot opened in July and its hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Sweet Spot and Castanet have joined forces in a competition, where a lucky participant will win a free pedicure. You can enter the competition for free here.
