The iconic Miller’s Bar in Dearborn, known for its burgers, has been listed for sale in the market.

The specific asking price is not disclosed for the building at 23700 Michigan Ave. owned by Dennis and Mark Miller, the third Miller generation to own the bar and restaurant for the past eight plus decades.

However, Ali Charara, an agent for Century 21 Curran & Oberski, which has offices in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Northville, said the asking price was over $ 4 million.

The sale includes the business, trademarks, a 50- to 60-person banquet hall, equipment, four apartments above the building and a lounge all owned by the Millers, Charara said.

“Both brothers are ready for retirement now,” Charara said. “They have suspended sales due to the pandemic, but the bar is resuming normal operations and things are resuming.”

Charara said income fell 30% to 35% during the COVID-19 pandemic, but is now about 95% of what it was before the global health crisis and has prompted the state to shutting down bars and restaurants for indoor service for a long period of time.

Whoever buys the property, Charara said the Millers would rather continue to operate the same as they do today.

“They would like the legacy to continue. It’s been 81 years and I’m sure that legacy itself has value,” said Charara, noting that the bar currently employs six people. He also noted that the Millers would likely stay on board “until a new owner takes over and goes into cruise control.”

A listing of the property says it is 2,500 square feet.
