Dulux has made Bright Skies – a clear sky blue – its Color of the Year for 2022. The color is said to symbolize the return to freedom and reflects optimism.

Bright Skies can be paired with a variety of shades and, as a guide, Dulux has created four “ColorFutures” palettes: Greenhouse, Studio, Salon and Atelier. The 37 colors selected in total from the palettes match the blue hue and work together to create a distinct look.

The Workshop palette is described as having “clear, positive colors that make functional fun”. The greenhouse is more natural with cool green and blue undertones. Studio is more pastel with a mix of pale blues, pinks, reds and oranges. Salon has softer, paler shades that are more neutral but also blend with the pale blue of Bright Skies.

Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director of Dulux UK, said: “Right now people want to feel revitalized and enjoy their rightful freedoms to watch and bring new ideas. What better inspiration can we take than the endless skies around us?

“Biophilic design, which embraces design elements inspired by nature, is entering the mainstream, and it is now widely known that nature makes us feel better and taking steps to bring the outdoors in makes us better.” our sense of well-being.

“Whether clients want spaces to work, relax, teach or exercise, it’s essential to have colors that reflect the optimism and desire for a fresh start that’s high on the agenda. of the coming year. However, Bright Skies and Paddles are not about daydreaming. It’s about turning those dreams into reality and moving forward with the changes we want to make.

“This is why the Dulux Commercial Color of the Year and the corresponding palettes are practical, open and flexible for all kinds of requirements. Professionals should enjoy talking to their clients about the transformative impact these colors can have.
