CHICAGO, March 15, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Twenty-eight years, three visits to the United States Supreme Court and the multibillion dollar abortion industry using all of his power to stop a man from proclaiming that life, all life matters – is Fighting for life: The story of NOW c. Scheidler. This new documentary from the Thomas More Society, presented in preview March 22 on EWTN, gives an enlightening look at the man who defended the right to defend the right to life and denounce abortion and the lawyer who risked everything to defend it.

Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in 1973, but the April 29, 2014, with final legal action in an actual court drama spanning nearly three decades, Joe scheidler and Tom brejcha have been justified and the right to speak out publicly against the murder of unborn children has been strengthened. This film is the story of a hero who preserved the right to publicly defend life and the epic legal battle he endured to do so. This historic lawsuit led to the birth of the Thomas More Society, the national nonprofit law firm that continues to defend the guaranteed right to publicly assert the sanctity of human life and to denounce abortion before the courts. American courts.

Hosted by Abby johnson, former director of Planned Parenthood turned advocate for life, this documentary examines the legacy of Scheidler, who died in January 2021, and the lasting effects of the impact he and Brejcha left on the pro-life movement.

“Because of the dedication of the privileged few, we have the rights to be in the fight today,” Johnson says as she steps into the story. Fighting for Life: The Story of NOW v. Scheidler tells the story of the historic legal battle that definitively guaranteed the right of individuals and pro-life organizations to publicly denounce abortion and defend the lives of unborn children.

Interviews with Scheidler, his wife Ann, Brejcha and his wife Debbie, recount their journey through the early days of the pro-life movement to the accusation by the abortion lobby of violations of laws established to deter crime organized.

The Thomas More Society was born in the crucible of persecution launched by the National Organization for Women against a man who believed that all children deserved a chance to live. This “David versus Goliath” situation pitted a man and his lawyer, Tom brejcha, against a well-funded political group determined to crush its right to speak out against their support for abortion.

Today, the Thomas More Society continues to defend the “little guys” of the pro-life movement against the powerful abortion industry and the political agents it funded.

“It was a challenge to cram nearly thirty years of legal wrangling into a half-hour documentary,” noted Caryn Talty, producer of Fighting for Life: The Story of NOW v. Scheidler. “By hitting the highlights we were able to convey the reality of this real life saga of standing up for what you think is right, however strong the opposition is.”

Talty considers that the real beauty of the story is that Joe scheidler and Tom brejcha beat the odds. Today, pro-life advocates can stand outside of abortion centers and share life-affirming alternatives, pray for an end to abortion, and speak out against the cruelty and violence of the act. And if they encounter opposition, the Thomas More Society is there to defend their constitutional rights, firmly secured by Scheidler’s victory over NOW in United States Supreme Court.

Fighting for Life: The Story of NOW v. Scheidler makes his debut March 22, 6.30 p.m. (East) on EWTN. To learn more about the documentary film visit https://28d5756e2a.nxcli.net/about/scheidler/.
